Central England Co-op Members Save More on Everyday Essentials
As the cost-of-living crisis tightens its grip on communities, Central England Co-op has cut prices on over 50 everyday essential products in its stores to support its Members. Starting from the 26th October, Members can now save over £22 on the products included in the special offer.
The Member discount spans a wide range of essential products including cheese, tea bags, eggs and pasta sauce and reduces some items by as much as 43%. The 4-pint milk carton has been brought down to just £1.50, lower than most other food retailers on the market.
Elsewhere in-store, Insomnia and Costa Express hot drinks machines have an exclusive discount set up for Members, with a saving of 50p per drink until 31 January 2023. In addition, Members can save 50p on lunchtime meal deals priced at £3.50 for Members when purchasing a main, side and drink from the meal deal range.
Central England Co-op’s Chief Member and Customer Officer, Rajesh Gupta, said: “We’re always looking for ways to give back to our Members. These offers on essential products are part of our aim to support Members in our communities this winter, and we’re pleased to be able to offer these prices when they are needed the most.”
Furthermore, Central England Co-op is supporting the government’s Help For Households initiative by sharing a range of discounts under its Shop Locally For Less campaign. In addition to discounted essentials, this provides links to food and drink offers alongside budget friendly recipe ideas.
These generous discounts are available to all Central England Co-op members. Signing up is simple and can be done online. Joining as a Member provides more than exclusive offers. The Society provides its Members with a wide array of events, a range of social activities, classes and groups. Additionally, Members earn a share of the Society’s profits and can have a say in how the Society is run.
Guided by its co-operative principles, the Society continues to help communities in need through partnering with a variety of food justice organisations such as FareShare Midlands and hundreds of local food banks. Through these partnerships, three million meals have been donated, and over 100,000 food bags distributed through Too Good To Go. Central England Co-op also supports schools in partnership with Magic Breakfasts, giving children a nutritious meal to start the day.
This is in addition to Central England Co-op contributing 1% of its trading surplus to Members through its Community Dividend Fund in support of good local causes, ranging from sports teams for children to community initiatives to assist those in need.
