CHEAPSHOW PODCAST CELEBRATES 10 YEARS OF BARGAINS, BANTER, AND BIZARRE FINDS

On Friday, 13th June, the award winning (Golden Lobes Podcast Awards 2025) “Economy Comedy Podcast” CheapShow is officially celebrating its 10th birthday, marking a full decade of digging through the UK’s bargain bins, car boot sales, and charity shop shelves—all in the name of laughter, nostalgia, and the occasional unfathomable snack.

Hosted by comedians Paul Gannon and Eli Silverman, the award winning CheapShow launched in 2015 with a simple concept: uncovering the strange and wonderful world of budget shopping, Poundland oddities, and tat-filled treasure troves. Over the past ten years, the podcast has evolved into a cult hit, known for its chaotic chemistry, recurring characters, and unapologetically offbeat humour.

With close to 450 episodes, a fiercely loyal fanbase known as the “CheapSkates,” and countless bizarre charity shop discoveries behind them, Gannon and Silverman have turned their niche passion into one of the UK’s most enduring indie comedy podcasts.

“This podcast should never have lasted 10 episodes, let alone 10 years,” joked Paul Gannon. “Yet here we are, older, poorer, but somehow still laughing—and still finding all sorts of stories, hidden in the back of the UK’s charity shops”.

Over the decade, they’ve uncovered the mystery of Winkie (the biggest toy of 1984 you never heard of), they’ve wandered the UK and America with their “walkabout” adventures away from the studio, they’ve put on many packed out live shows, played many unusual boardgames, suffered through many a forgotten novelty pop single, and they’ve spoofed Die Hard, murder mysteries, fantasy, game shows, horror films and more in their genre hopping narrative episodes… It’s been a lot!

In celebration of the milestone, CheapShow is releasing a special 10th anniversary live episode, featuring highlights from the past decade, surprise guests, and all the familiar segments, such as “The Price of Shite, “Tales from the Dancefloor”, and the eternal trauma of “Gannon’s Golden Games”!

Listeners can also pre-order a limited edition vinyl comedy album (with download code) featuring music, themes and podcast segments from the past decade (https://www.diggersfactory.com/vinyl/327144/cheapshow-cheapshow), live events across the UK, and—of course—a deep dive into the most bewildering charity shop hauls yet.
