CHILDREN’S HOSPICE WELCOMES SUPPORT FROM AMAZON IN BROMLEY-BY-BOW
An Essex charity that provides support to seriously ill babies, children and their families has received a donation of £2,500 from the Amazon delivery station team in Bromley-by-Bow to help it continue to support the local community.
Haven House Children’s Hospice received the donation as part of Amazon’s programme to support the communities around its operating locations across the UK.
The nurse-led children’s hospice provides specialist care for children from birth until they are 18, offering families flexibility and control over where they receive their care and support. The charity offers a range of services including end of life care and emotional and wellbeing support. It supports more than 450 children with life limiting and life-threatening conditions.
Amazon Bromley-by-Bow Delivery Station Manager, Andreea Capatina, said:
“Haven House Children’s Hospice is doing vital work in our community to help those most in need and we wanted to support their efforts with this local donation. The services offered by the charity’s staff and volunteers have never been more important and I’d like to thank them for everything they’re doing for our community during these challenging times.”
Pushpinder Gill, Director of Income Generation at Haven House Children’s Hospice added:
“On behalf of the team at Haven House Children’s Hospice, I want to say thank you to the team from Amazon in Bromley-by-Bow for this donation. With all in person fundraising events currently cancelled and our retail shops still closed, it has been an incredibly tough year for us as a charity. We are passionate about the work we do and donations like this are a big help for us to continue supporting our community.”
Community donations are one of a number of ways in which Amazon is supporting communities across the UK during COVID-19.
Amazon is providing disadvantaged students with online STEM courses as well as teaming up with charity partner Magic Breakfast and delivering more than three and a half million healthy breakfasts to families around the UK.
