Christmas at Handel Hendrix House – Food, decorations and lots of music!

Handel Hendrix House – the Mayfair museum once home to composer G.F. Handel and rock legend Jimi Hendrix at 25 Brook Street Mayfair – will be starting their Christmas Festivities from Thursday, November 27, 2025 and will continue until Sunday 4th January including opening for the first time between Christmas and New Year on Monday 29th, Tuesday 30th and Wednesday 31st December (last entry at 3pm on the 31st).

The house will sparkle with timeless festive decorations and visitors can immerse themselves in the beautifully restored rooms where both Handel and Hendrix once lived, now dressed for the season with Christmas trees, twinkling lights, and decorations themed around music and festive feasting.

From 27th November visitors can explore the house with a self-guided Festive Family Trail, finding out about the Christmas treats and favourite festive food and drink of the 18th century and 1960s.

Guitar Saturday on Saturday, December 6 (£20 including admission) encourages visitors to bring their guitar along and will include a talk entitled “The guitar day Christmas bash” at midday. Guitar specialist Nigel will recap on the year, talk all things Hendrix, the blues, chords and lead playing. He’ll open the room to questions, ask him anything (guitar related!) followed by the Brook Street Jam in the studio.

The museum will be open late on Thursdays, 11th and 18th December. Experience the house after dark during our Christmas Late openings, with entry available until 7pm. General admission applies.

There will be live cooking demonstrations in Handel’s kitchen, taking place during the weekend of December 13 & 14, 2025 – a rare chance to experience the sights, sounds, and scents of an 18th-century Christmas with a special evening event where food historians Marc Meltonville and Robert Hoare will delve into the rich history of Georgian punch — a popular party drink of the time (evening tickets £25/ daytime included in admission price).

This will be followed by joyful carolling over the weekend of December 21 & 22, 2025 to fill the house with warmth.

For anyone looking for something a little different this Christmas, the museum shop will feature a delightful selection of gifts sure to charm any music lover.

As Simon Daniels. Director of Handel Hendrix House added: “Just minutes from Oxford Street, Handel Hendrix House is the perfect place to take a break from the bustling streets and get back into the festive spirit.”
