Clara’s: Shoreditch’s New Deli, Wine Bar & Bistro Set to Become a Neighbourhood Cornerstone
This October, Shoreditch welcomes Clara’s – a new Deli, Wine bar & Bistro from the team behind Camden’s The Farrier, famed for serving one of London’s best roasts. With a focus on warm hospitality, artisanal produce, and seasonally led cooking, Clara’s is designed to become a local cornerstone for Shoreditch life.

By Day: Coffee, Pastries, Produce & Discovery
From 8am, Clara’s opens as a neighbourhood deli and café. Expect speciality coffee from Extract Coffee Roasters, alongside pastries and breads from East London favourites Dusty Knuckle, and a daily selection of house-made cakes and seasonal bakes. At lunchtime, the counter fills with freshly baked buns overflowing with Pistachio & Mortadella, focaccia creations and a daily changing salad box menu.
The deli will be open daily until 7pm, bringing together the finest ingredients from across Europe, including freshly sliced charcuterie and cheeses, butchery cuts, tinned fish, and artisanal Mediterranean staples. Clara’s suppliers include Flourish (whose produce also graces the kitchens of BRAT and Manteca), Provisions, HG Walter and Neal’s Yard Dairy. In time, Saturday mornings will showcase the preparation of Clara’s freshly made mozzarella, a rare opportunity to experience it ‘just born’ in true Puglian style, served still warm from the stretching bath.
By Night: Wine, Produce-Led Dining & Mediterranean Inspiration
From Wednesday through Sunday, Clara’s dims the lights and becomes a 45-seat wine bar and dining room. Saturday and Sunday lunch service will also run, making Clara’s an all-day destination on weekends. The menu, led by Head Chef Elie Fourcroy (formerly of Artusi, awarded a Michelin Bib Gourmand in 2025), is inspired by his produce-first cooking philosophy with a Mediterranean-inspired menu that celebrates island and coastal cuisines. Dishes will be dictated by the day’s best ingredients and plates designed for sharing. Expect oysters, rillettes, bruschetta con tomate, and seasonal salad Niçoise presented as a vibrant, shareable centrepiece. Signature dishes include:
Conejo en Salmorejo – rabbit braised with pimentón and herbs, lifted with Tenerife red wine vinegar.
Manchego Fritti – Clara’s ‘continental hero dish’, a fusion of Spanish manchego and French panisse batter, fried until golden and topped with Italian parmesan.
Clara’s Salad Niçoise – evolving with the seasons: you can expect variations such as confit duck, pickled beetroot and broad beans as autumn sets in.
The Wine List
The wine programme leans toward low-intervention and artisanal producers across the UK and Europe, supplied by Les Caves de Pyrene, Tutto Wines, Ancestral Wines and newcomer importer Nabeeth Wines who work with select producers from Palestine. Bottles are chosen to complement Clara’s produce-led cooking, with a focus on small growers and expressive terroirs. Their wine list will lead with a ‘wines with a purpose’ section – a selection of bottles from producers whose approach to making wine expands beyond producing wine and aims to create social, economical or ecological change.
Events & Experiences
Clara’s will host a calendar of events, ranging from Clara’s Cellar wine tastings, to ‘The Salami Party’, an interactive butchery and charcuterie workshop where guests learn to make their own salami – later collected after six to eight weeks of curing.
The Team
Clara’s is led by owner George Hartshorn, behind Camden’s acclaimed The Farrier. The day-to-day is overseen by General Manager Rochelle Hutchinson, formerly of the River Café, whose pastry background and passion for fresh produce will anchor Clara’s unique blend of hospitality and retail. In the kitchen, Head Chef Elie Fourcroy, whose three-year tenure at Artusi in Peckham saw the restaurant awarded a Michelin Bib Gourmand in 2025 and recognised by Time Out as one of London’s best Italian restaurants.
Clara’s Deli opens on 13th October, and as a Wine Bar & Bistro from Friday 17th October at 17 Bethnal Green Rd, Shoreditch E1 6LA
