Clockwise Wood Green supports Tottenham Foodbank following opening last month

Clockwise Wood Green, the flexible workspace operator which opened last month, is marking its arrival into the community with a £5,000 donation to Tottenham Foodbank, helping it to support vulnerable individuals and families in the local area who require access to food.

Clockwise is passionate about creating environments for its members to flourish and achieve their full potential. This passion extends to the local community, particularly at a time when many are facing hardship exacerbated by the pandemic. The donation from Clockwise Wood Green will help to ensure the community’s basic nutritional needs are being met, and help to reduce stress and anxiety around food poverty.

The Covid-19 pandemic has rapidly increased the issue of food poverty across the nation. North London is no exception, with Tottenham Foodbank seeing a 300 per cent increase in the need for its services since opening in March last year. Providing emergency food parcels containing at least three days’ worth of nutritionally balanced meals for individuals and families, many of Tottenham Foodbank’s clients are elderly, disabled, or have faced changes in their circumstances and a loss of earnings as a result of the pandemic.

Tonye Philemon, Foodbank Manager at Tottenham Foodbank said: “During the pandemic we delivered many more emergency food parcels to homes across Haringey. Inequality has risen sharply during Covid, so Clockwise Wood Green’s generous donation will support neighbours hit by the lasting economic and social legacy of Covid. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!”

Providing a local hub for Londoners to work effectively, Clockwise opened its first London location in Wood Green last month. Taking inspiration from the local community and its surrounding green spaces, Clockwise has worked in collaboration with neighbourhood artists to capture a genuine local perspective.
