Countdown Begins for Christmas at Dunham Massey

With just over a week to go, the excitement is building for the return of Christmas at Dunham Massey, set to sparkle from 15th November to 1st January.

This year promises even more magic with the debut of several breathtaking new light artworks designed to captivate visitors of all ages.

For 2024, the stunning after-dark illuminated trail, created by Culture Creative in partnership with Sony Music and the National Trust, will feature cutting-edge installations from world-renowned artists.

Among the highlights is Luminosi Trees by Sound Intervention, where three towering six-metre-high light trees change colour in sync with a unique music composition inspired by the Fibonacci sequence.

Another exciting addition is On The Tide by the international art collective Squidsoup, which will mesmerize visitors with floating points of light that dance across the water.

This ethereal work continues Squidsoup’s legacy of creating unforgettable, immersive experiences at venues like the Sydney Opera House and Burning Man.

Also debuting is Fire Dancers by Maria Hingerty and Brian Thunder, a striking installation inspired by Christmas table-top chimes.

This fire-based artwork symbolises human unity and joy, promising to evoke warmth and festive memories for all who attend.

These new features join Dunham Massey’s beloved holiday trail, where over a million twinkling lights, glittering baubles, and tunnels of illumination transform the historic estate into a magical winter wonderland.
