Creatures Comedy Festival Announces Partnership with New Venue
After a roaringly successful debut last year, Creatures Comedy Festival is back for its second year and it’s going to be bigger, bolder and badder than ever. Not only has the 7-night-a-week comedy club upgraded to a larger venue but this year the festival is partnering with Lost Cat to begin the ultimate comedy takeover in the Northern Quarter.
From 15th – 26th July 2025, the festival will once again kick off the summer, showcasing over 30 shows from household names to rising stars with the hottest comedy talent from the North taking over the festival on Sunday July 20th.
Lost Cat will be a bubbling hub of the festival bringing local acts, rising stars (and some big names too). Starring in the new festival space will be Jessica Barton as Mary Floppins (Winner of Melbourne Comedy Festival’s Best New Comer), Rosalie Minnitt as Clementine (Telegraph’s Funniest Shows at the Fringe and Guardian’s Top Ten Comedy shows of 2023), Lorna Rose Treen (Instagram Sensation and 2023 Funniest Joke of the Fringe winner) and Alex Camp (Leicester Comedy Festival Best Variety Show 2024 nominee).
More than 25 shows are on sale now including: Chloe Petts (Ed Gamble UK Tour Support, Channel 4, BBC 3), Larry Dean (Live at the Apollo and Michael McIntyre’s Big Show), Huge Davies (Edinburgh Award Nomination for Best Newcomer and Time Out’s No.1 comedy show to see), Dan Tiernan (British Comedian Of The Year, BBC New Comedy Award, 8 out of 10 Cats Does Countdown), Alison Spittle (iRadio, RTÉ Radio 1 and Newstalk), Vidura BR (The Times, Best Jokes Of The Fringe), Katie Norris (Winner of Musical Comedy Award and semi-finalist at the BBC New Comedy Awards), Evan Desmarais (International comedy icon and owner of Creatures Comedy Club), Michael Akadiri (Comedy Central LIVE and BBC Comedy Awards), Celya AB (Live at the Apollo, Off Menu Podcast) and Rob Copland (Winner of Victoria Wood Award at the Edinburgh Comedy Awards, Comedian’s Choice Awards Best Show) with more still come.
Some regular comics at the club and return sold out shows from last year: Kyle Legacy (World Record holder for most gigs done at the Edinburgh Fringe), Natalia Schwartz (Host of B*tches In Stitches), John Robertson (Creator of legendary interactive live-action videogame show The Dark Room), Ev & Kev (New comedy improv sensations), and Sikisa (ITV, BBC, DAVE and Comedy Central).
Sunday 20th will be the festival’s Northern Takeover day, only featuring comics from the North. The day will kick off with a live podcast recording of Proper Rank hosted by Brennan Reece (Live At The Apollo and Comedy Central’s Roast Battle). and Danny McLoughlin (Big Value Comedy Show during Edinburgh Festival performer) before Rob Auton (The Russell Howard Hour and Rob Delaney’s Stand Up Central), Jack Carroll (Star of Coronation Street, Live at the Apollo and Britain’s Got Talent) and Best In Class (Winner of Edinburgh Fringe Panel Prize championing working class comedians). The Northern Takeover day will conclude with the finals for the first Creatures Comedy Competition. The competition will crown the Best Comic in the North West. Holding weekly heats, rising stars and seasoned pros will battle it out for comedy glory with the winner performing on the final day of the festival.
The festival is proud to be working with local businesses and key comedy companies: Raju Spices, British Comedy Guide, North Manchester FM as well as the official hotel partner, Roomzzz, who are currently running a giveaway to win a stay during the festival along with tickets to some shows (details to enter can be found on the Creatures Comedy Festival instagram).
The festival is dedicated to bringing the best comics to Manchester, showcasing local talent, celebrating the city’s growing comedy scene and establishing Manchester as the UK’s next big comedy destination (sorry London). Creatures Comedy Club and NOMAD Comedy are proud to be producing its second festival less than 3 years after it started to run nightly shows and hopes to continue expanding to provide a platform for homegrown talent whilst also raising the profile of Manchester’s comedy scene.
With the new venues and bigger spaces, there’s never been a better time to grab tickets – fans are urged to move fast. Last year’s shows sold out in record time, and this year’s buzz is building fast.
