CRICKET TAKES OVER LEAKE STREET: NEW MURALS CELEBRATE LONDON RIVALRY AHEAD OF THE HUNDRED OPENER

Cricket and street culture collide this week as two bold graffiti murals featuring London Spirit and Oval Invincibles
have been unveiled at the iconic Leake Street Arches, in London, marking the countdown to the opening game of The Hundred.

Set in the heart of Waterloo’s urban art hub, the striking new street art, created by renowned graffiti collective MurWalls, celebrates
the capital’s newest and fiercest sporting rivalry in vivid style. Drawing on the vibrant colours and personalities of both teams, passers-by will be given a glimpse of the energy and excitement to come when London Spirit and Oval Invincibles meet in the opening
game on 5 August.

World class players from both teams, Tom Curran, Amanda-Jade Wellington and Dani Gibson were joined by children from the Ace Programme
Charity and MCC Foundation to help the artists complete the final design, swapping their bats and balls for brushes.

London Spirit, last year’s women’s champions, and Oval Invincibles, the 2024 men’s champions, will each be looking to defend their respective
titles, as pop sensation Mimi Webb will take to the stage in front of a packed-out crowd, shortly before the much-anticipated release of her sophomore album Confessions on 12 September.

The Hundred returns to London for its fifth season, bringing global cricket stars and headline music acts together to put on a show in
the city’s most iconic venues – Lord’s and the Kia Oval.

Marc Silver, MurWalls Founder said ‘We’re known for our sports murals, but we wanted to do something different for The Hundred. These
artworks really convey the spirit and rivalry of these two London teams. It was great to involve kids from the Ace Programme and MCC Foundation to get them excited for the tournament and create two totally unique pieces of art.’

While Oval Invincibles all-rounder Tom Curran commented,
‘Being involved in the creation of the murals was really cool, I think they look amazing and a great way to mark one week to go until the start of The Hundred. We’ve won the title two years on the bounce, so we can’t wait to get back out there again and
what better way to start the tournament than with a London derby against your local rivals.’

The tournament will conclude with The Hundred Eliminator at the Kia Oval on Saturday 30 August, and with The Hundred Final at Lord’s on
Sunday 31 August. With tickets selling fast, and some matches already sold out, fans won’t want to miss out on one of the most exciting sport and entertainment events of the summer. Tickets represent exceptional value, with prices starting from just £21 for
adults and £5 for juniors aged 3-15 (free for under 3s).
