Croydon is the third BEST town in the UK for Blue Badge parking, according to new study
A new study has revealed which UK towns and cities offer the most, and least, accessible parking for blue badge holders. Nationwide Vehicle Contracts analysed Parkopedia data for 56 car parks across the UK to calculate the percentage of accessible car parks available in each location.
Since the UK government announced that those with hidden disabilities could also apply for a blue badge back in 2019, there has been a surge in demand for disabled parking. But which towns and cities are falling short?
94% of Croydon’s car parks have disabled spaces, making it one of the MOST accessible cities for disabled motorists
Of the towns and cities that offered more disabled parking options, the data reveals that Croydon ranked in the top three, at third place. 94% of the South London town’s car parks offered accessible parking for the 4,542 resident Blue Badge holders registered there.
Worcester topped the list with a huge 96% of the city’s car parks offering accessible spaces for blue badge holders. Surrey town, Epsom, came in second with 95% of car parks having disabled spots.
