DATA SHOWS HUGE INCREASE IN LONDONERS ON THE ROADS THIS WEEKEND
Data from Bolt, London’s second biggest ride-hailing app, has revealed a huge increase in Londoners moving around the city, in the first weekend since lockdown measures were lifted.
The number of rides across Bolt’s 50,000 registered drivers in London was up 72 percent on the previous weekend, when hospitality and non-essential retail was closed.
There was an almost 100 percent (98.2 percent) increase in rides this weekend compared to the weekend of 7th/8th November, the first weekend of lockdown.
Sam Raciti, Bolt’s UK General Manager commented: “These figures show that Londoners are looking for alternative affordable ways to get around the city in the run up to Christmas. Bolt is doing everything possible to keep London safe and moving during this pandemic. For anyone looking for extra piece of mind, they can opt to order a ride from our Protect category, which provides a partition between drivers and passengers.”
