The UK’s dating hotspots

The study revealed that single Brits are spending an average of 2,220 a year ( 185 per month) to find their true love by dating, that’s just over two months’ worth of rent in the UK alone!2

Studies are showing that consumer price inflation is set to hit 4% at the start of next year meaning dates are only going to get more expensive. With the average price of a pint set to reach 4.02 in 2022, the cost of finding love will continue to rise.

However, daters across the UK don’t all face the same flirting fees. In terms of location, the biggest spenders are in London where the cost of love is 3,084 a year. In contrast with Manchester, the average spend sits at 1992 which is still more than Newcastle daters at 1740 per year.

Daters are also turning towards simply not dating at all, but “hooking up” as many see committed relationships to simply be too costly for its benefits. Whereas adult casual dates have a few of the endgame benefits and few of the costs. Search terms such as “fuck in your city” and “hookups near me” are reportedly becoming more commonly used. But there is a small percentage of the population that are still undecided. 4% of younger people that are married said they didn’t know if their partner was the one.

However, the problem is not limited to the younger generation; it is also in older men and women. For instance, in a number of countries, some women prefer dating much older men than themselves but do not want to be the one to initiate. Men who are interested in younger women, on the other hand, often do not know how to approach them due to the fear of rejection probably. Interestingly, the majority of women (48%) believe that the bill should be split equally between both daters. In terms of believing the woman should be tapping her card, only 10% of all respondents said that this was the most proper option.
