Deaf-Friendly Yoga arrives at MoreYoga Soho

MoreYoga, London’s biggest yoga studio brand will launch its inaugural Deaf-Friendly Yoga session with Sign Yoga at the Soho studio on Saturday 21st September.

The adapted Vinyasa class will last an hour and a half and will be led by qualified yoga instructor from Sign Yoga and BSL interpreter Bethaney Mouzer. Bethany is one of only four teachers in the UK teaching in BSL.

MoreYoga wants London’s yoga scene to be cracked wide open, being inclusive, tackling taboos around LGBT+ and mental health; finding ways to celebrate diversity and to bring yoga to as many people as possible and accommodate to a group often overlooked, the deaf and hard-of-hearing.

Shamir Sidhu, founder of MoreYoga says; “As a business and as yogis, we’re passionate about breaking down barriers in the community and enabling and empowering the deaf and hard-of-hearing population to access yoga, meditation, wellbeing and self-care. We’re hoping this will be the first of many events with Bethaney and the team at SignYoga.”

With over 25 studios across the capital in locations including Stratford, Brixton, Tower Bridge, Soho and Hackney, MoreYoga offers affordable yoga practice on the high street for local communities.
