Decathlon’s Trail Running Brand, Evadict, Launches New All Female Trail Team of World Champion Runners

DECATHLON have launched a new all-female trail team, with ten all-star members who have an incredible track record in the sport.

Named Team EVADICT, after Decathlon’s own trail running brand, four of the team’s members are current World Champion trail runners, including their iconic team leader, Blandine L’hirondell.

In addition, the 2022 – 2025 team is backed by six talented and dedicated trail runners, with the full team consisting of: Marie Dohin, Celine Finas, Melanie Finas, Clementine Geoffray, Blandine L’hirondel, Laurie Phaï-Pang, Adeline Roche, Jade Rodriguez, Camille Thire-Monnier and Sarah Vieuille.

To support the team, legendary ex-coach of the French national trail running team, Phillippe Propage, will be leading them on this sporting adventure.

Decathlon’s EVADICT brand was launched in 2020, at the height of the pandemic, and 2022 felt like the year for the brand to take on a new and exciting challenge to support women in the sport.

Olivier Laboussole, Head of the Decathlon EVADICT brand, comments: “Together, with trail running world champion, Thierry Breuil, we have felt for a long time that our strength is to be exactly where we are not necessarily expected. Thierry had this idea, what about creating a 100% female trail team, and I thought it was a wonderful plan! We felt that women in sport don’t get enough of the spotlight, and with trail running becoming more and more feminine with women making up 25% of the sport, we felt it was time to do so.

“Once the idea of an all-female team had taken shape, we realised that Philippe, who had just stepped down from his position coaching the French national trail running team, was the perfect man for the job. The foundations had been laid, and we then selected the 10 sportswomen who we knew would be interested in joining the adventure.

“This is a flagship project for EVADICT! It is our responsibility as a brand to encourage the greatest number of people to discover the fantastic sport of trail running. The aim of this initiative is to invite all women who wish to get started with trail running to join our community – a happy community, open to all, irrespective of origin or social class! We aim to showcase the real stories of women and those who are genuine athletes. We feel that these snapshots will inspire more women to sign up to this exciting adventure, which goes far beyond just sport. And of course, we also hope to create some projects in the future with this team of ten passionate trail runners.”
