Decorating and DIY specialist opens in Dulwich

The rapid expansion of London’s leading decorating and DIY specialist business has continued with the opening of its new Dulwich store.

Leyland SDM opened its 31st store when it cut the ribbon on its Dulwich premises – its seventh new store of 2021.

The new store is based at 113 – 115 Lordship Lane (SE22 8HU) and provides a welcome boost to the local economy.

The ribbon was cut by Leyland SDM Chief Executive Jonathan Jennings, store manager Debbie Hall, The Deputy Mayor of Southwark, Councillor Sunil Chopra, and Dulwich Hamlet Football Club representative Clare Keeble, which has received backing from Leyland SDM.

It follows on from the opening of new stores in Acton, Tooting, Cricklewood, Fulham North, Greenford and Clapham Junction already this year.

Jonathan Jennings, Chief Executive of Leyland SDM, said: “It’s been an exceptional year of growth for the business, particularly when you consider it against the backdrop of the pandemic.

“Dulwich has been on our radar as a potential destination for a store and it’s extremely pleasing to be open for business.

“It’s in a fantastic location and will be great news for both trade professionals and people carrying out DIY jobs in their homes.

“The home improvement boom which began during lockdown shows no sign of slowing down so we are confident of a high level of interest in our new store.

“Everyone visiting can benefit from the expert DIY knowledge of our colleagues and first-class service, including home delivery if required.”

The Dulwich store has created new local jobs, forming part of a wider recruitment campaign with more than 50 vacancies currently available across all London stores.

The Dulwich store stocks a comprehensive range of thousands of products across all departments, including paint and decorating essentials, building materials, electrical fittings, tools, plumbing equipment, ironmongery and much more, all under one roof.

Leyland SDM has grown to become one of the most recognisable and trusted decorating and DIY companies in central London with stores in prominent locations across the city.

Some of the biggest and best-known DIY brands are available at Leyland SDM, including Farrow & Ball, Tesa, Bahco, Bosch, Purdy, Dulux Trade, Leyland Trade, Stanley, Ronseal and DEWALT.
