DEXTERS & ROY BROOKS ESTATE AGENTS JOIN FORCES TO ENHANCE DEXTERS SOUTH EAST LONDON OPERATIONS

DEXTERS, London’s leading independent Chartered Surveyor and estate agent, has joined forces in a new partnership with Roy Brooks Estate Agents, one of London’s oldest-established and most famous estate agents, further boosting DEXTERS’ market share in London residential sales and lettings.

The new alliance will provide DEXTERS with a valuable presence in South East London, where Roy Brooks Estate Agents has been selling homes since the 1950s. The company’s two offices cover Peckham, East Dulwich, Camberwell, Brockley, Nunhead and Telegraph Hill, and over the years its client list has included, designers, politicians, actors, and artists, including Anne Widdecombe, Hardy Amies, Nigel Lawson, Jenny Agutter, Terry Jones and Anthony Gormley.

The firm was founded by the late Roy Brooks (died 1971), a brilliant property marketing professional, whose must-read property descriptions in the Sunday Times and Observer made him a legend amongst his peers and famous in the 1950s and 1960s as a commentator on the gentrification spreading across London.

Andy Shepherd, CEO of DEXTERS said: “We have long been an admirer of this iconic business and it’s talented staff, who we very much look forward to working with. DEXTERS has a distinctive approach to the industry combining a strong local presence, hard work and “feet on the ground” with state-of-the-art web, marketing and PR. This combination has made us the market leader in London for sales, lettings and property management. We are committed to helping to grow Roy Brooks Estate Agents and have an initial three year plan to work closely in strengthening and expanding the business. We have the resources to free up the local offices so they can focus fully on their clients and their property.”

The acquisition marks the start of a new wave of expansion into east and south east London, for DEXTERS who have 70 branches across the capital and earlier this month announced that Oakley Capital, the leading City of London private equity firm, was to become an investor in DEXTERS, providing funding to open 30 new branches and recruit an additional 400 staff over the next few years.

DEXTERS, which began life in 1993 as a single office in Twickenham, has grown to become the capital’s leading estate agent with over 1,200 full-time staff, a global profile and recognised by peers as a leading operator in the highly competitive London property market. DEXTERS has a consistent track-record of providing first class service with its many thousands of Google ratings averaging 4.9 out of 5.

Over the next three years DEXTERS plans further expansion into the capital’s lucrative new homes, build-to-rent sectors and the corporate and international lettings market and to grow its on-line presence with more on-line and social-media marketing. The business has already witnessed a busy start to 2021 with both sales and lettings deals running at record levels and working with over 114,000 buyers and tenants currently looking for a new London home, up 25% on 2020.
