Disney’s Wonder of Friendship: The Experience launches in London

First look at two of the experience’s spaces – Disney’s Alice in Wonderland and The Lion King

Tickets for Disney’s Wonder of Friendship: The Experience, launching in London from 12 May to 21 May 2023 are now on sale. To give audiences a taste of what’s to come, Disney has unveiled a brand new visual to give fans an additional sneak peek of The Lion King room.

Targeted at Young Adults, Wonder of Friendship: The Experience transports fans into a completely new, socially shareable world of beloved classic Disney stories. Guests are encouraged to playfully explore their own friendships, whilst celebrating dynamic duos such as Lilo & Stitch or inseparable pals like Mickey & Donald.

Groups of friends will be able to venture through 1,000 square metres of different experiences and installations set across four themed rooms, including Alice in Wonderland, The Lion King, Mickey & Friends, and Lilo & Stitch. Using Snapchat’s Augmented Reality technology, visitors can bring Disney characters and stories to life by scanning QR codes in each room.

About Wonder of Friendship: The Experience

The magic starts as soon as guests enter, with a series of immersive installations as they journey around the space, all tracked via an RFID*** key. As groups of friends finish the experience, the key will reveal which iconic Disney friendships they share, with a special Disney Wonder of Friendship printout to take home.

Fans will enter the topsy-turvy world of the Garden of Mystery, inspired by Alice in Wonderland. Paying homage to Alice’s sense of adventure, guests will be asked to mirror the unforgettable journey Alice took with her new friends down the rabbit hole. Guests will need to trust their friends and not their senses as they journey past towering flowers, Bread-and-Butterflies, Mome Raths and the Queen’s Card Guards into the dense and vibrant atmosphere of a haze-filled maze in the Garden of Mystery

Visitors can enjoy the tropical sights, sounds and scents of Lilo & Stitch’s Ohana Bay. Dive into island life and take a stroll down Lilo’s memory lane by visiting the beach and jumping on a surfboard

In The Lion King’s Orchestral Oasis room, the jungle-themed atmosphere is brought to life by graphic bugs and butterflies, immersing groups into Simba, Timon and Pumbaa’s world on Hakuna Matata musical swings

Guests will come face-to-face with life-sized statues of Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy Goofy and Pluto in the Mickey & Friends Wonderverse room. When guests interact with the characters they trigger the characters motion sensor which starts that characters unique live art animation on one of the giant LED screens within the room. The more guests engage, the bigger, brighter and bolder the animations appear on screen, demonstrating the power of togetherness in this illuminated interconnected art piece.

Guests will also be able to attend various retail pop-ups including an experience powered by Creator Studio, where they can create an exciting and original piece of clothing using AR technology.

Wonder of Friendship: The Experience launches at 180 The Strand from 12 to 21 May 2023. Tickets are priced at £17.50 per person
