Doggy Daycation at Wembley Park!

Enjoying time in Wembley Park – London’s most exciting new neighbourhood – isn’t just for humans, as Benya the Vizsla has shown.

Equipped with his trusty GoPro, Benya has put his best paw forward, exploring the sights of Wembley Park (or should that be Wembley Bark?!), on a doggy daycation to celebrate National Dog Day (26th August).

The neighbourhood is pet-friendly in so many ways. Benya started his daycation by hopping off the tube and down the steps of Wembley Park station, just 12 minutes from central London, heading under the famous Bobby Moore bridge and along Olympic Way.

He delighted in stretching his legs in the lead-free section of Elvin Gardens and when thirsty, he popped to London Designer Outlet for a quick stop at one of the dedicated drinking stations dotted around the centre, before presenting the puppy eyes to staff at Guest Services ensuring they delved into their supply of free dog treats (and picking up a biodegradable poop bag from them, just in case).

As it’s National Dog Day, Benya felt he should brush up on a bit of culture to impress his fellow canines, so also made a point of taking in the Wembley Park Art Trail. The vast, free public art gallery is a distinctive part of the neighbourhood, with 18 pieces of art spread across different mediums, including paints, digital mixed media and upcycled materials. Benya was particularly delighted with the ‘graffiti spaghetti’ style art (and guest pigeon) from Mr Doodle whose works have been valued up to USD 1 million.

After bounding up (and down) the Olympic Steps and paws-ing for a spot of retail therapy at Carib and Co, Benya was ready for an al fresco café stop at The White Horse pub where he chose from a dog friendly Fish & Chips or Sausage & Mash dinner, free with every human meal purchased.

After such a great day out in Wembley Park, Benya was ready to head home and put his paws up.
“We are delighted that Benya took the time to sniff out all that’s on offer at Wembley Park. We are a family destination and that means ensuring that all family members are welcome – including the four-legged ones!”
