Forest, London’s most affordable and sustainable e-bike operator, today announces that it will be launching in Hounslow on Monday 11 August after it was selected by the council to deliver e-bikes to the local community, having come first place in a highly competitive procurement process.

The contract was awarded to Forest after a competitive tender process – in which Forest was the highest scoring operator – and means the e-bike operator will now operate in 18 boroughs across the capital. Forest already provides over 1.5 million customers with a more affordable and sustainable way to travel and, in just 5 years, has established itself as the fastest-growing shared e-bike operator in the city.

In partnership with Hounslow Council, Forest will offer 1,087 dockless e-bikes that can be rented and parked across one of 248 parking bays across the borough with plans for additional bays to be added by the borough in due course. The move will offer Hounslow residents the opportunity to adopt transport methods that are more sustainable, ease road congestion and promote healthier lifestyles.

The news comes as Forest announced that it had recorded a record breaking 1.5 million rides across the capital in July – a 60% year-on-year increase – as the company continues to grow its operations across London to meet the increasing demand for more sustainable and accessible transport methods.

Forest is the only London based operator with zero emissions, powering all bikes and service vehicles with renewable energy – and is also the only provider that gifts users ten minutes of free rides per day. In 2024, Forest gave away approximately 40 million gifted minutes, costing the equivalent of over £11 million.

Forest was founded in London by Agustin Guilisasti (ex-Cabify) alongside co-founders Caroline Seton and Michael Stewart in 2021.
