Echo Vocal Ensemble and Friends present Chasing the Night: Midwinter Songs
Echo Vocal Ensemble present a special performance celebrating the winter solstice this December, which will include live dates in London and Yorkshire.‘Chasing the Night’ will take audiences on a musical journey across the Northern Hemisphere, following dusk as it falls in each country.
With a sound described as “sparkling, poised and powerful” (The Arts Desk), the twelve singers of Echo under conductor Sarah Latto will explore the magic, myth and mystery of the depths of winter through music. Alongside traditional carols, the programme features pieces by Poulenc, Britten and Rachmaninov alongside vocal music from Canada and Iceland.
In London, the group will be joined by some very special guests: the Ugandan artists Danny Sewagudde and Denis Muggaga. Known as ‘Ganda Boys’, this duo are internationally known for their fresh interpretations of traditional Ugandan chants, and have been collaborating with Echo since the beginning of 2022.
