Elephant & Castle Community Hub to host series of interactive and accessible online events for local residents across October
The Elephant & Castle Community Hub, the online resource connecting residents across Elephant & Castle, has announced a series of events to take place during October and are welcoming locals to attend online free of charge. All virtual events can be accessed through the Community Hub Facebook Page ‘What’s On At Elephant and Castle’.
Virtual events taking place at the Community Hub over the coming weeks include a ‘Creative Club’ each Thursday at 2.00pm, through which participants can take part in upcycling projects and origami classes.
Additionally, the Community Hub will also host its second celebration of Black History Month on Tuesday 20th October at 11.00am. The event will feature inspiring talks from local community members.
Over the course of half term, the Community Hub will also host interactive sessions with Disability Sports Coach. This will include three separate sessions on Wednesday 28th October, followed by two sessions on Friday 30th October.
The Community Hub sees the return of the popular bilingual puppet shows by Spring of Hopes charity. The puppet shows will be based on the poem Peace/Paz and the African tale Anancy and will be hosted live on the Community Hub Facebook pageon Tuesday 27th October at 10.00 am.
Finally, the Community Hub will also host a special Halloween event Spooky Sunday on Sunday 1st November from 0800 pm – 0900 pm. Spooky Sunday is an online event with a mixture of storytelling, poetry, performance and a fun spooky singalong and fancy dress competition. The event is free and open to all ages and will be hosted on the Community Hub Facebook Page
