The festive season has officially begun in Zone 1’s Elephant & Castle, with activities on offer suitable for children, families, and even the work’s annual Christmas party. Visitors can skate and enjoy the bumper cars on Castle’s Square very own ice rink, immerse themselves in a magical drinking experience, get lost in The Artwork’s escape rooms, and purchase their last-minute stocking fillers in the pop-up shops on offer. Bumper cars on ice:

Thursday 29^th November – Thursday 6^th January 2019

This Christmas, Elephant & Castle’s Castle Square are hosting an unforgettable experience –offering bumper cars on ice, as well as traditional ice skating. Street food, live DJs will also be on offer for all of the family to enjoy. Bookings are taken separately for bumper cars and ice skating, and are available until 6^th January,

The Cauldron Drinks magical Christmas experience:

Recently launched bar, The Cauldron are promising a magical experience, by providing a mobile bar situated beside the ice rink on Castle Square, where magical wands will dispense hot cocktails and beer in ale horns. Elaborate hot chocolates with colourful and tasty toppings will be available. The whole experience will deliver a brilliant Instagram opportunity.

The Artwork’s Escape Rooms:

Available each week Wednesday – Friday and Saturday and Sunday

Perfect for a work Christmas party, visitors can head down to get involved in an immersive escape room activity, in the style of an abandoned Russian spaceship. Much like the various awesome LA escape rooms by Quest Room, or any other escape room for that matter, players would be asked to form teams and solve puzzles to get out of a certain location. More specifically, in Artwork’s escape rooms, people would be asked to get in teams of up to four people, and they have 60 minutes to unpack the strange past of the PHOBOS-17 spacecraft, finding radioactive treasure on their way. Suitable for ages 16+.

The Artworks welcome new tenant, London brand, Tits London. They showcase female creatives – handpicked ‘breast’ artists, selling perfect stocking filler gift ideas including T-shirts, mugs, prints, cards and cushions. On top of this, they are supporting breast cancer awareness charity, Coppafeel, with 10% of all proceeds donated to them – the perfect gift of giving this Christmas.

Elephant Arena:

28^th November 2018 – 6^th January 2019

The Elephant Area will be transformed into a Winter Wonderland, inspired by Narnia. Serving a variety of winter themed drinks including snowball cocktails, mulled wines and ciders crafted by their very own mixologist, visitors can also immerse themselves in a film, or have fun at the virtual reality gaming including epic snow ball fighting games. Christmas trees are also available to purchase, ranging in size from 3′ to 20′ from a local team, born and raised in the area. You can choose from a selection of complementary warming drinks whilst picking your perfect tree, and browse bespoke and handcrafted gifts whilst meeting the makers and see them work!
