Enjoy the gift of giving at Brent Cross with the Giving Tree
It’s time to spruce things up this Christmas, as North London welcomes the return of Brent Cross’s beautiful Giving Tree in an annual scheme that ensures every child receives a Christmas gift. Working in partnership with Barnet Children’s Services, the Giving Tree will be available from now throughout December to give customers the chance to become a Secret Santa for a local child in need.
Tags with the age and gender of a local child can be picked from the branches of the beautifully decorated tree near the Information Desk. Shoppers then go and purchase the perfect gift for that child and bring it back to the Information Desk to be collected and delivered to the child just in time for Christmas Day.
In 2018, over 1,500 gifts were purchased for local children through the scheme and this year hopes to be the biggest and best yet, with a beautiful, decorative tree that will appeal to all.
Chris Barnes, General Manager at Brent Cross Shopping Centre, said: “We love being able to give back to our local community and through the Giving Tree scheme we are able to get our customers involved too. Through donating gifts to the Barnet Children’s Services, our customers start their Christmas in the best way possible. We can’t wait for the North London community to come together to kick start this magical time of year in the centre”.
The Giving Tree will be available throughout December, with tags free to collect during centre opening hours, with the last toy drop-off on Christmas Eve.
And that’s not all on offer at Brent Cross this year. For the first time Brent Cross will be offering an exclusive gift-wrapping service by its resident elves, so customers can be stress-free ahead of the big day. Available from the 30th November until Christmas Eve, located on the ground floor next to Fenwick – shoppers can have confidence knowing their precious, thoughtful gifts are in good hands.
To get a gift-wrapping slot, simply use the PLUS app to redeem ‘free gifting’, drop the gifts off to the capable elves, and watch as your gifts are perfectly wrapped. There is also the option to donate a suggested £2 per gift to Barnet Children’s Services through the collection tin at the gift-wrapping station.
Gift Wrapping will be available from 30th November until 24th December, from 12pm to 6pm daily on the ground floor outside Fenwick.
