Europe’s biggest festival, Sziget unveils bold site transformation for 2025

A new chapter is beginning in the life of Sziget Festival, one that preserves its unique atmosphere and diverse programming while introducing a range of exciting new features. Visitors can expect a refreshed festival site structure, creative innovations, and non-stop experiences available around the clock. Several venues are being relocated, and new “districts” within the festival city will reflect and enhance Sziget’s rich musical and cultural diversity.

Just announced, Sziget Festival 2025 will feature the new Szoho district, a bold new area concept inspired by the vibrant, arts-driven spirit of iconic city districts like Soho in London and New York. Szoho will become a multicultural melting pot where music, street culture, and creativity collide, so strollers can enjoy a slice of Budapest without needing to leave the festival.

At the heart of Szoho, Sziget’s dynamic cultural district, featuring standout venues like The Buzz and DropYard along with pop-up street performers, barbers, tattoo artists, speciality bars, graffiti walls, skateboarding shows, and even on-site makeup services. The Buzz will offer a genre-blending lineup featuring rising and renowned acts such as EKKSTACY, Last Train, Casey Lowry, Julien Granel, and more, delivering everything from indie and alt-pop. Meanwhile, DropYard will energise the scene with daytime hip-hop and rap shows that evolve into high-octane nights packed with drum & bass, dubstep, reggaeton, and more, spotlighting talent like Bawo, EV, Feux, KILLOWEN, Strandz, Vunzige Deuntjes, PEET, Davodka, Theodora, and DJAM & TIMOH.

Another new addition to the Szoho District is The Cypher, a stage fully devoted to breakdance and hip-hop culture, featuring freestyle sessions, breakdance battles and DJs in collaboration with Budapest’s hip-hop association, Cypher Town. The Joker will offer board games by day and comedy and spoken word by night, hosted by international acts including Dave Thompson and the Underground Slam Academy.

Other new districts will organise programming by genre or cultural theme. Among these, the Delta District emerges as Sziget’s new nightlife epicentre, providing entertainment from dusk till dawn. As part of this, the rebumped Yettel Colosseum, inspired by ancient amphitheatres, will host I Hate Models, 999999999, OGUZ, Hot Since 82, Carlita, Dixon, Chris Liebing, The Blessed Madonna and horsegiirL to name a few. Elsewhere, the all-new Bolt Night Stage (formerly the Party Arena) will host the who’s who of the electronic and EDM international scene, including Armin Van Buuren, Vini Vici, Don Diablo, Alok, Steve Angello, Boris Brejcha, Amelie Lens, Mathame, and Miss Monique. Another addition to the Delta District is The Club by Don Julio — a fully enclosed space offering an intimate club experience for electronic music lovers.

The K-Bridge, the iconic festival entrance, will feature a new vibrant installation of massive, colourful birds for a revitalised entrance. Other major changes throughout the festival’s layout include a relocation of key venues such as Cirque du Sziget, the infamous Magic Mirror championing the LGBTQ+ community, and the Travelling Funfair.

For those looking to explore other creative landscapes, the Paradox zone will feature a mix of circus acts and boundary-pushing dance performances. Music lovers can also expect a dynamic lineup on the Revolut Stage, with performances from Empire of the Sun, Justice, Papa Roach, and Caribou, to name a few.
