On Friday 23rd October, Oatly will open the doors to its very own Embassy, a temporary immersive cultural hub of all things taste. The pop-up in South Kensington, London’s historic diplomatic quarter, is in celebration of its new Future of Taste Report; an annual look at where drinks culture is heading, all based upon insights from baristas, café owners and drinks professionals across 21 countries.
Bringing those insights to life, Oatly will also unveil its Look Book Volume 4. Published twice a year, this edition is based on trends from this year’s Future of Taste Report, giving Londoners a first taste of the drinks trends of tomorrow.
Oatly’s very own Embassy will open in South Kensington from Friday 23rd to Saturday 24th October. Free to the public and with complimentary signature drinks throughout the day, visitors can expect:
The Diplomat’s Café – the main bar on the ground floor, serving free signature drinks from Oatly’s latest Look Book, with drop-in drink workshops where you can learn from the experts about how to recreate them at home
The Ambassador’s Lounge – a library and listening room running drop-in chess sessions with Checkmate, knitting with Black Girl Knit Club & a Strangers in The City event across the weekend. The report found the café has quietly taken over from the pub as where we actually see each other; this is the room built around that insight.
The Museum of Modern Oats – take an audio tour guide through Oatly’s gallery of artworks, including oil paintings of signature drinks and a papier-mâché dog built entirely from old Look Books. On Friday evening, Lost Property will also be taking over the space to present a series of lectures
The Oatly Passport – the first 100 guests through the door on both Friday and Saturday will get their very own Oatly Embassy Passport, a London neighbourhood guide which acts as your ticket to free oat-based drinks at 21 partner cafes across the city – (T&Cs apply, see website for details)
Drinks workshops run across both days, to join, sign up on the day at the Embassy front desk. Checkmate, Black Girl Knit Club, Strangers in The City & Lost Property sessions can all be booked through their own social channels. Spaces for both drinks masterclasses and community sessions are all available on a first-come, first-served basis.
