FACEBOOK CELEBRATE NEW OFFICE OPENINGS WITH LONDON TREASURE HUNT
Employees at new Facebook offices have celebrated with a treasure hunt on their new stomping ground.
Social media brand Meta – formerly Facebook – recently opened the first of two new offices in London’s Kings Cross.
It has been a three-year build, and will house the company’s engineering teams working on Instagram, virtual and augmented reality, workplace, ads and business products.
And to mark the opening, some 40 staff went on a treasure hunt around the capital which saw them complete tasks and challenges.
In true Facebook style it was a high-tech affair– carried out by GPS on iPads and ran by events organising team Eventurous.
Company director Joe Garland said: “It was great to be part of the business launch to celebrate the new offices.
“We made sure we included lots of local places on the GPS treasure hunt so staff could really see what the area has to offer. It’s something we specialise in and we had great feedback that everyone enjoyed the event.”
The offices were opened at the end of March by Their Royal Highnesses The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall. The Kings Cross development is part of a carbon neutral estate with more than 5,000 workstations.
