FAIRTRADE TO USE ‘DO IT FAIR’ TO CONNECT WITH FESTIVAL GOERS

Fairtrade Foundation will be heading to festivals across the country including Latitude, Forwards and De-Colonise Fest and reaching out to festival goers, as part of their Do It Fair campaign.

Do It Fair is focused on building a world that’s fair to people and the planet. Through highlighting the most pressing issues faced by the farmers and workers behind the products we love such as human rights, climate justice and fair pay, Fairtrade will be spotlighting what ‘fair’ really signifies.

Amy Chapman, Gardener, Presenter and Storyteller, Adeche Atelier, acclaimed artist and content creator and Tori Tsui, are just some of the influencers lending their support to the Do It Fair campaign at nationwide festivals.

Festivals provide Fairtrade with a brand-new platform to reach younger audiences and offers a format where it can champion for climate justice for farmers and workers, raising awareness amongst audiences and motivating them to take some action alongside our campaign.

Fairtrade will bring fairground inspired games such as ‘spin the wheel’ or ‘Fairtrade jenga’, where audiences will not only have the chance to play and win prizes such as temporary tattoos or T-shirts, but also learn more about Fairtrade and the issues that producers face daily. Additionally, creativity and activism remain deeply entwined in Fairtrade’s work, as there is also a plan to host friendship bracelet-making workshops, weaving in stories from the producers behind the products we love.

Fairtrade will make its presence at festivals known through the use of panels, stalls, talks and workshops with relevant creators, artists and activists.

Sarah Brazier, Head of Campaigns at Fairtrade Foundation, said:

“Festivals provide Fairtrade the potential to reach significant numbers of people and help them understand how making fairtrade shopping choices makes a real difference to farmers and growers in regions across the world.

“This type of engagement also offers us the opportunity to encourage festival goers to show their support to our call to action for Government to introduce a law to ensure that businesses are legally required to protect farmers and workers in their supply chains.”

Across the 2026 festival season, Fairtrade is looking to work with key partners, building on the 2025 partnership with Climate Live, youth-led climate and music campaign group and Fairtrade brands and retailers.
