Fall In Love at Bamboo Mat Restaurants This Valentine’s Day

Whether you’re heading out for Valentine’s or rounding up the girls for Galentine’s, Bamboo Mat restaurants in Leyton and Stratford Village East have the way to your hearts on 14th Feb with their one-off Steak and Sushi platter and dessert, for duo dining of any description.

Following a rave review from Grace Dent when Bamboo Mat’s first site in Leyton opened, Bamboo Mat’s popularity has been building steadily in foodie circles with Chef owners Denis Gobjila (formerly at Chotto Matte) and Victor Rosca (formerly at Sushisamba and Lucky Cat) bringing a fresh perspective to London’s burgeoning Nikkei cuisine (Peruvian-Japanese fusion) scene.

Bamboo Mat – The Way To Your Heart This Valentine’s Day

Offered at both Leyton and Stratford, Bamboo Mat’s Valentine’s sharing dish for two beautifully marries together Peruvian and Japanese flavours, featuring grilled Picanha steak topped with fresh Chimichurri sauce sat alongside cute heart-shaped Californian Maki rolls and salmon nigiri (2 pieces) with black garlic aioli.

For dessert, couples will each be presented with a white & dark chocolate mini mousse cake, also heart-shaped of course.

The two-course special platter and dessert is £40.

Pair your platter with a cocktail or two. Bamboo Mat’s drinks menu offers a fusion of Japanese and Peruvian flavours to match the food. Choose from a range of unique cocktails and mocktails such as Tokyo Mule (Japanese vodka, ginger beer, lime, mint, cucumber); Tokyo to Lima (pisco, roku gin, vermouth, ginger, orange); and of course Pisco Sour (pisco, lime, gomme syrup, egg white, angostura). Non-drinkers will love Bamboo Mat’s Mocktail Mojito (tonic, soda, ginger, lime, yuzu, mint).

Sake on offer includes Junmai Daiginjo and Kawatsuru available by glass and bottle. Carefully selected wines, Japanese spirits, and Japanese beers such as Asahi Super Dry and Kiran Ichiban are also available.
