Farmologie, the adult skin care brand from leading personal care company Childs Farm (the UK’s No.1 children’s skin care brand), has donated £750,000 of hand cream as a thanks to NHS hospital staff as research shows healthcare workers are suffering from severe skin conditions during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Farmologie’s biggest in-kind donation yet comes in response to huge demand from healthcare workers, who are suffering from dried-out hands from the effects of over-washing. A survey carried out by NursingNotes and Nursem revealed that nursing staff are washing their hands around 81 times a day, compared to 38 times a day before the pandemic. 90% of respondents also said they had seen a worsening in the condition of their hands since the start of COVID.

The creams, which form part of Farmologies’ pink grapefruit range for adults, are being distributed to over 30 NHS hospitals and trusts across the country at a time of alarming need. This follows its donation of £115,000 of hand creams in 2020.
