This festive season, Michelin-starred chef Niklas Ekstedt invites guests to gather at Ekstedt at The Yard, the acclaimed restaurant within Great Scotland Yard Hotel. Just moments from Charing Cross, the restaurant offers a unique take on Christmas and New Year dining, where seasonal British ingredients meet Ekstedt’s signature open-fire flair.
Festive Menu – £110pp | 23, 26 – 30 December & 1-3 January
A celebration of the season with a five-course menu. Highlights including snacks from the fire and two of Niklas Ekstedt’s signature favourites: the flambadou oyster and the cep mushroom souffle with woodruff ice cream and blueberries. Main dishes include charcoal grilled Cornish fish with pumpkin purée and juniper smoked sirloin of beef. Dinner only.
Christmas Eve Dinner – £130pp
Get together for a Christmas eve feast at Ekstedt at The Yard’s seven-course tasting menu. Expect festive highlights such as a trio of fire snacks and signature Flambadou Oyster, charcoal grilled Cornish fish and sirloin of beef. A finale of desserts includes barley malt chocolate mousse paired with toasted pecans and Swedish Mackmyra single malt whisky ice cream, plus pickled cloudberries with yoghurt sorbet and Swedish candy.
Christmas Day Lunch & Dinner – £115pp / £140pp
Celebrate the Nordic way at Ekstedt at The Yard with menus built around the primal beauty of fire. Lunch is a showstopping roast (£115pp) whilst dinner is spectacular seven-course evening feast (£140pp). The festive roast includes three courses of Nordic-inspired dishes, including classic roasted mains such as braised short rib, fire-cooked leg of lamb and a Guinea fowl with herbs & citrus, and choice of a Nordic Christmas pudding for dessert. For evening dining, start with flame-kissed snacks and Niklas’ signature flambadou oyster, before moving onto dishes such as charcoal-grilled Cornish fish and juniper-smoked sirloin of beef and a duo of desserts and Swedish candy.
The Christmas Day Roast is available between 12.30pm – 3pm for £115pp
The Seven Course Christmas Day dinner is available from 6.30pm – 9.30pm for £140pp
New Years Eve – £155pp | 31 December, from 9pm
Welcome 2026 in with a celebratory tasting menu of fire-cooked lobster with fennel and roasted vegetable foam, juniper-smoked sirloin beef with truffle, followed by indulgent desserts. Minutes from Trafalgar Square, pop-out for the fireworks at midnight before returning to one of the hotel’s two bars, 40 Elephants and Síbín, open until 2am.
All festive menus at Ekstedt at The Yard can be accompanied with a volcanic wine pairing from Head Sommelier Klearchos Kanellakis (recently ranked 14th among the UK’s Top 100 Sommeliers) designed to complement the bold, smoky flavours of Ekstedt’s open-flame cooking.
