Fine & Country agents take on the heights of Everest to raise funds for charities across the globe
London-based Fine & Country agents will be trekking the distance of the world’s highest peak, Mount Everest, on London’s Primrose Hill to raise funds for The Fine & Country Foundation, supporting charitable organisations fighting causes of homelessness and poverty around the world. The expedition will take place on Friday 18 December, where attendees will be walking up and down Primrose Hill 178 times, around 58,000 steps, to match the climb of Mount Everest.
Luke McCarthy, Director of Fine & Country St Johns Wood, has organised the fundraiser and will be joined by Ed Gilbert, Director of Fine & Country Hampstead Garden Suburb, and Mark Pesci, Director of Fine & Country Islington, in the challenge.
McCarthy says: “Since many fundraising events have been cancelled across the world, we wanted to do our bit to help bring in funding to the Fine & Country Foundation that is essential to fighting poverty and homelessness globally. We invite the public to come on down and support us, or abuse us, so long as they put a little in the fund. We have no idea how long this will take, and we will attempt it all in one go or sleep and carry on until we reach the top.”
The challenge is inspired by the Everest Base Camp Expedition conquered by supporters from The Fine & Country Foundation in 2017, which raised funds to rebuild a village devastated by earthquakes in Nepal.
Upon reaching the summit, partakers of this fundraiser plan to pitch a Fine & Country flag at the top of Primrose Hill to replicate when Pemba Dorje, a Sherpa from Nepal, did the same at the top of Mount Everest in celebration of the new village, in Thangpalkot1, built by The Fine & Country Foundation.
Jon Cooke, Global CEO of Fine & Country, says: “It’s inspiring to see the generosity and enthusiasm displayed by Fine & Country agents and our network once again in raising money for those in need through the Fine & Country Foundation. This year, The Foundation recently surpassed its initial goal of reaching half a million pounds, which has helped a countless number of people suffering with homelessness and poverty all over the world. Fundraisers like this one contribute to the invaluable funding, which positively impacts vital charities every year.”
Funds raised will be donated to the Foundation pot, which will contribute to the next Spring Grant where the Foundation grants life-changing donations to various deserving charities.
