FOODBANK INITIATIVE IS THE TUR-KEY TO SUCCESS THIS CHRISTMAS
This Christmas, Barratt Homes has partnered with Runnymede Foodbank to support its Food for Lunch initiative with a £1000 donation. This is the second time the foodbank and Barratt Southern Counties, who is currently building its Eldebury Place on Hanworth Lane, have worked together, having previously joined forces at Easter earlier this year.
The Food for Lunch initiative will provide two weeks’ worth of provisions for children who normally would receive free school meals during the school term-time. During the festive period, Christmas additions such as advent calendars and sweet treats will also be included in the packages for the children to enjoy. Volunteers at the foodbank provided 400 packages to families last year and are preparing for another busy Christmas this year.
Kimberley Benson, Sales and Marketing Director for Barratt Southern Counties, commented: “Christmas is a difficult time for many members of the community so we at Barratt Southern Counties want to help as much as we can to alleviate any stress over this period. The Food for Lunch Initiative run by Runnymede Foodbank had an enormous reach last year indicating the necessity of this support during time away from school so we hope our donation will help bring some relief and Christmas joy during this time of giving.”
Angela Miller, Runnymede Foodbank Co-Ordinator, commented: “We would like to thank Barratt Southern Counties for its generous donation for our project this year. The support will help bring the Christmas spirit alongside our Christmas Hampers to our recipients, whose packages are vital in supporting families over the two week school holiday. We will continue to work hard to support the community into 2022 and wish our beneficiaries a happy Christmas.”
Barratt Southern Counties is building new homes at its Eldebury Place development in Chertsey, where a collection of one, two, three and four-bedroom homes are available. Prices start from £269,995 for a one-bedroom apartment.
