A brand-new restaurant is opening in Surrey this April, as Foxhills Club & Resort unveils Lomri, an exciting new dining destination within the estate’s beautiful Manor House. Just minutes from the M25 and M3 yet surrounded by the countryside of Foxhills’ 400-acre estate, Lomri brings a fresh sense of excitement to Surrey’s dining scene and a new reason to head to the county.
The name Lomri comes from the Hindi word for ‘fox’, a nod to Foxhills’ heritage and identity. Symbolising curiosity and intelligence, the restaurant reflects a spirit of exploration into flavours of food.
The opening forms part of a £1.5 million transformation of Foxhills’ late-18th century Manor House, creating a stylish yet welcoming restaurant designed for everything from celebratory dinners to relaxed weekend lunches and spontaneous evenings out. The décor draws inspiration from the colours, textures and feel of India, utilising warm lighting, layered materials and bold accents to create an atmospheric blend that feels lively and playful yet refined.
At the helm is Head Chef Achal Aggarwal, whose international career is nothing short of impressive. From the 5-star Hotel Okura in Tokyo to Morimoto restaurant New York at, he later became Executive Chef for Hilton Hotels & Resorts in India. Back in London, he led the kitchen at Chutney Mary, one of the UK’s most respected fine-dining Indian restaurants. His menu at Lomri takes inspiration from the historic trade routes that once connected India and Britain, blending authentic Indian ingredients with contemporary techniques and elegant presentation.
Dishes are vibrant, layered, unique and full of character. Guests can expect a selection of small plates such as crispy squid bhajia with lime chutney alongside tandoor-grilled dishes including king prawns scented with curry leaf or paneer tikka with tangy chutneys. Rich, comforting plates include pork of coorg, with aromatic biryanis unveiled at the table, while desserts range from silky kulfi and saffron-soaked jalebi to playful modern creations.
Alongside the restaurant, the Manor Lounge and Bar has also been reimagined as a relaxed social hub for cocktails, pre-dinner drinks and late-evening conversations, adding to the lively atmosphere at the heart of the Manor House.
