Free film festival Summer on Screen returns to Wembley Park with a stellar line-up of film favourites

From Thursday 29th July, Wembley Park’s popular free, outdoor cinema, Summer on Screen, will return for five weeks in the Events Pad, across from London Designer Outlet, on Wembley Park Boulevard.

Kicking off the line-up of events, Gurinder Chadha, famed Director of cult-hit Bend It Like Beckham, will make a guest appearance to the screening of her smash hit football-themed film. The award-winning Director will take part in a live Q&A, with Bollywood film expert, Anuj Radia. The screening of Bend It Like Beckham will mark the start of the film festival, which will be followed by 20 free movie nights across five weeks of film fun.

Guest are invited to visit Summer on Screen for an exceptional outdoor cinematic experience of hand-picked films under the summer night sky, with a choice of deckchairs or beanbags for a comfortably seated experience.

The movie bonanza will cater to all audiences, with sport-themed films for those with Olympic-fever, as well as Bollywood classics and Broadway hits, like the critically acclaimed play Hamilton. Educational and popular documentaries from National Geographic will also be screened throughout the day, making Wembley Park the perfect place to relax with family and friends during the summer months. Best of all, screenings are completely free, so be sure to arrive early for pre-show entertainment, food, drink and to secure seats. All seats are first come, first served. If seats are all taken you can still watch the film from the surrounding area.

On the final night, guests will be asked to vote for which film is to be shown, picking from Top Gun, Dirty Dancing, Who Framed Roger Rabbit or Back to the Future. Visitors will be invited to vote via the Wembley Park website, on the days leading up to the closing event.
