FRIDA IN BLOOM: FRIDA KAHLO INSPIRED SELF-PORTRAITS WITH AUTHOR OSCAR DE MURIEL

Step into the colourful world of Frida Kahlo for an intimate creative afternoon at Imperfect Art in Peckham, bringing together art, history and storytelling. Inspired by Kahlo’s iconic self-portraits, guests will create their own Frida-inspired mixed-media portrait using collage, pressed flowers and oil pastels, with all materials provided.

Historian and bestselling author Oscar de Muriel will join the workshop to share stories and insights from more than a decade spent researching Kahlo’s extraordinary life and art, as well as discussing his Frida Kahlo-inspired historical detective novel, The End of the Vodka.

Weaving real historical figures and events into a richly atmospheric mystery, the novel brings Kahlo vividly to life as witty, sharp, passionate and endlessly fascinating. The afternoon will also include an informal Q&A with Oscar, giving guests the chance to delve deeper into Kahlo’s life, legacy and artistry.
