Frites Atelier, who are they?
Following London’s growing love of mono-menu sensations, Frites Atelier brings the next evolution of the trend: the Dutch fry, a staple of the Netherlands’ vibrant food culture.
The Dutch turned frites into an art form of their own, pioneering today’s obsession with loaded fries, sauces, and bold flavour combinations.
Frites Atelier unites craftmanship, culinary innovation, and hospitality expertise to elevate the simple potato into an experience like no other. Each Atelier is thoughtfully designed to showcase this unique combination, redefining Frites.
What makes a Dutch fry different? Dutch Frites are known for their golden, ultra-crisp exterior, soft cloud-light centre, and their place at the heart of the Belgian and Dutch food culture. They’re served not as a side, but as a hero dish, always sauced, and made with meticulous attention to texture and quality.
Frites Atelier’s passion lies in the art of preparing the perfect Frites. It elevates Dutch tradition with hand-selected potato varieties, a proprietary oil blend, and a double-cooking method perfected by Herman and his culinary team.
Sergio Herman says, “the Dutch have been obsessed with Frites for generations, we turned them into a craft long before loaded fries became a trend. Brits think they know chips, but usually only when they’re next to fish. In the Netherlands, fries stand on their own, and at Frites Atelier we show exactly what that means: quality, creativity and care. London is ready for Frites done the right way.”
With locations already beloved across the Netherlands and Belgium, Frites Atelier’s arrival in London introduces the capital to Frites as they are meant to be: crispy, golden, and full of character, setting a new standard for fast-casual dining turned into a luxury dining experience.
Frites Atelier has partnered with the Giraudi Group and Apollo and Daphne to launch the London Atelier.
