The UK’s best community bank, Metro Bank, gives every colleague a Day to Amaze – essentially a paid day off to support a local charity or good cause. Colleagues from Metro Bank’s Fulham Broadway store chose to use their Days to Amaze as volunteers for their local Age UK activity centre.

In preparation of the activity centre being able to open up again next week, Metro Bank colleagues assistant manager Gosia Rybak, lead cashier Leila Dadjooyi and customer service representative Chev Mills spent the day preparing the garden for visitors to enjoy soon including cleaning and organising the furniture and garden space.

“We wish we could have pulled the sun a little closer too – not the warmest day we have spent in the garden, but great fun,” explained Chev Mills, customer service representative. “We were proud of everything we managed to achieve and how the garden transformed with just a touch of good old fashioned elbow grease.”

“As a community bank, we love using our Days to Amaze to support local good causes,” explains Fulham Metro Bank’s store manager Reuben Thomas. “We are planning to send more colleagues to help the activity centre with other work that needs doing.”
