GALLIARD HOST LOCAL FOOD AND CRAFT MARKET AT NEW DEVELOPMENT WIMBLEDON GROUNDS

Leading developer Galliard Homes recently hosted a craft and food market, featuring local businesses, at their residential development Wimbledon Grounds adjacent to the AFC Wimbledon Stadium. The event, intended to bring new residents at Wimbledon Grounds and locals together, was attended by between 200 and 250 people and saw a variety stalls and enjoyed by all, organised by street trading management company Ace Events.

The market was held in the long, paved walkway between the two apartment buildings Stadia One and Stadia Three, with stalls from local vendors including: Wall Art and Painting, Wimbledon Strawberries and Cream, Delfina’s Delices, Brazilian Bakes, Whisk Deli Bakery, Alex the Plant Guy, Mins Bakery, Twist and Grill Med Food, Jerk Hut, Top Tapas Paella, Fresh Olives, Sugarcane and Coconut Juices and Candles and Home Scents.

Creating a sense of community, amongst residents and in the local community, at all developments is extremely important to Galliard Homes. Those visiting the Wimbledon Grounds for the market were not only able to enjoy the days offerings in the new public realm but also experience the two communal landscaped gardens at the development and see the new dedicated cycle route. Residents at Wimbledon Grounds also benefit from the new lifestyle facilities which include an extensive hospitality suite within the adjacent stadium, retail facilities, plus a squash and fitness club, encouraging an active new neighbourhood.

Due to the success and good turnout at the event, Galliard Homes are considering making the market a regular event, with the opportunity for it to be expanded. Prospective vendors can contact Ace Events for further information on how to acquire a spot at any subsequent events that will be hosted at Wimbledon Grounds.

David Galman, Sales Director at Galliard Homes says: “We are thrilled with how successful the market was at Wimbledon Grounds and are delighted that residents within the development and those from the local community were able to experience and enjoy the community offering together. The local companies, organised by Ace Events, were a huge hit with everyone who attended, and it was lovely to see the community all come together – we hope to hold many more of these markets in the future.”

Wimbledon Grounds is a 54,000 sq ft mixed-use regeneration scheme adjoining the brand-new and fully built stadium of AFC Wimbledon at the club’s original home on Plough Lane. The two apartment buildings provide a mixture of one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments.
