GARLIC BUTTER JUST GOT ‘VEGAN’ BETTER AT PIZZAEXPRESS: NEW VEGAN SPREAD HITS MENU TODAY

Vegan lovers rejoice! Garlic butter just got ‘vegan’ better as PizzaExpress is today launching a plant-based version of its iconic garlic butter.

Following thousands of customer calls to PizzaExpress for a vegan version of its iconic fan-favourite, the highly anticipated launch comes just in time for Veganuary and is the perfect side-kick for its beloved Dough Balls and pizza crusts.

It has been launched alongside a fountain of the garlic spread at the vegan-only PizzaExpress pizzeria in Aldwych. The bespoke tabletop fountain held over 2kg of the delicious dip, enough to dunk one hundred Dough Balls.

The plant-based garlic spread is available exclusively at the Aldwych pizzeria and will be rolled out nationwide in over 360 restaurants from March, available alongside classic Dough Balls, or as a dip for essential crust dipping!

The first ever vegan PizzaExpress launched in Aldwych last Autumn, exclusively serving plant-based goodness so vegan, flexi or just plain curious pizza lovers can tuck into even more vegan flavours. The current menu features its biggest ever range of vegan dishes including the American Jack – smoky jackfruit ‘pepperoni’ and tomato with its signature vegan mozzarella alternative; and the Vegan Ad Astra’ – topped with Quorn, sweet red peppers, Cajun spice, red onion, tomato, garlic oil and vegan mozzarella alternative.

Jane Treasure, Food and Beverage Director at PizzaExpress, says, “With more and more people opting for vegan alternatives every year, we’re excited and proud to be able to announce the launch of our vegan garlic spread this Veganuary. Our pizzaiolos have been busy perfecting the recipe to ensure it’s every bit as good as the iconic original. This newest vegan option joins a range of other plant-based dishes on our menu, as we continue to innovate our food to ensure it is delicious and enjoyable for everyone.”
