Genesis Publications announce Buddy Holly: Words Of Love bookstore edition to be release on April 8th 2025
Genesis Publications announces the hardback edition of Buddy Holly: Words Of Love, in stores on April 8th 2025 with a RRP of £60. This new bookstore edition follows the previously announced limited-edition version, of which only 559 copies were made. Buddy Holly: Words Of Love was made in partnership with María Elena Holly and the Buddy Holly Educational Foundation, and features an original cover art created specially by Ronnie Wood.
Born out of a conversation with Roger Daltrey who first conceived the idea of publishing Words Of Love back in 2017, this definitive celebration of the musician, songwriter and rock and roll trailblazer covers Buddy’s life, music and enduring legacy, offering an unseen perspective on the man behind the timeless music.
Buddy Holly’s career is presented through a large collection of never-before-seen photography and personal items belonging to Buddy, accompanied by the stories of those close to him. María Elena Holly is joined by over 80 iconic musicians who cite Buddy Holly as a central influence on their own incredible careers, many of whom are ambassadors of the Buddy Holly Educational Foundation.
Contributors include Crickets Jerry ‘JI’ Allison and Sonny Curtis and friends of Buddy, Paul Anka, Dion, Duane Eddy and Don Everly, alongside Eric Clapton, Dave Grohl, Emmylou Harris, Brian May, Van Morrison, Dolly Parton, Robert Plant, Keith Richards, Ed Sheeran, Bruce Springsteen, Sting, Pete Townshend, and Ronnie Wood among many more. Illustrating their text, each contributor has provided a handwritten dedication to Buddy, their own ‘Words Of Love’.
With proceeds from the sales of the limited edition benefitting Teenage Cancer Trust and Teen Cancer America, the limited edition book is presented in three highly collectible limited editions, with a foreword by María Elena Holly and an introduction by esteemed music critic Greil Marcus. The last remaining Deluxe editions are still available for pre-order via Genesis Publications’ website.
