With temperatures set to plummet over the coming week, Greene King is inviting customers into its pubs to keep warm to watch the football especially England v France this weekend.

A cold weather alert was issued on Wednesday following forecasts of sub-zero temperatures, snow, and ice over the coming days, with health officials urging Brits to heat their homes to a minimum of 18 degrees – if they can – in order to keep warm.

In response to the frosty forecast, Greene King, the Home of Pub Sport, is encouraging people to escape the freeze by heading into their local pub to enjoy the cosy, heated surroundings and prepare for the upcoming quarter final match.

To help Brits battle the elements all winter long, any customer who downloads the Greene King Season Ticket app ahead of the England vs France match this Saturday will automatically be in with the chance to win money towards their heating bill.

Customers must download the app and register before 7pm on Saturday 10th December 2022 to be in with a chance of winning. Customers who have used the app within the last two years will automatically be entered in to the draw.

According to UK Health Security Agency, the usual heating temperature should be around 18 degrees, so the pub company and brewer is giving 18 lucky customers the chance to take home £500 each.

What’s more, new Season Ticket holders will get a free drink upon registration and a further 10% of selected drinks purchased through the app during match time*. Drinks range from a selection of draught and bottled beers to wine and spirits, as well as soft drink alternatives.

“To help out during this difficult time, we are giving 18 people – to mark the ideal at home temperature – the chance to put £500 towards their heating bills, which we hope will help get them through the cold winter days and nights to come.

“We’re welcoming everyone into our pubs to keep warm and enjoy the football as we all cheer on England once again this weekend.”

The nationwide cold weather alert, issued by the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA), began at 6pm on Wednesday and will run until 9am on December 12.
