GOBOAT SETS SAIL FOR THE 2023 SEASON

Eco-friendly, self-drive boat company GoBoat has opened bookings for the 2023 season, kicking off with weekend trips available on Saturdays and Sundays in Paddington from March 4th until March 26th; before the dock opens seven days a week from April 1st. Trips from Canary Wharf, Kingston, Birmingham will start from Saturday 1st April seven days a week and there is an exciting new dock coming soon.

GoBoat is a fun day out for friends, family, children and dogs alike and requires no prior boating experience or licence. The boats travel at 5-7 km/h, meaning it’s easy for people to explore the London and Birmingham waterways at their own pace, taking in the cities and their iconic history from a new perspective as the captain of their very own boat.

Each boat, powered by an almost silent electric motor, fits up to eight people around a sociable picnic table, making it the ideal spot to catch up with loved ones, relax and unwind whilst floating down the scenic and calming waterways. GoBoat encourages those on the water to bring their own picnic to enjoy on the journey, and if it’s not quite picnic weather just yet, sailors can turn on brand new heated seats and cosy up in blankets provided by GoBoat*.

Nicola Banwell-Clode Head of Operations at GoBoat said: “With Mother’s Day, Easter, half-term, Father’s Day and Bank Holidays around the corner, GoBoat is the perfect gift, group or child-friendly day out as well as a fun date activity. Plus, being on the water gives our minds a break from noise and stimulation – so boating is also a great way to just relax, promote calm and escape the chaos of the city.

After huge demand for GoBoat in 2022, we are also excited to be opening a brand new location this season, meaning we can invite even more people onto the waterways to chill out, catch up with friends and make new memories. Keep an eye out for more details about our new site coming soon.”

Every GoBoat location is unique and has a carefully curated route to follow using a map, sailing past plenty of iconic sights along the way including:

London Paddington: Cruise along the scenic Regent’s Canal and head through Little Venice and Camden Lock, with the opportunity to catch a glimpse of the monkeys at London Zoo along the way.

Canary Wharf: Discover the iconic London Docklands and striking architecture of Canary Wharf, with views including the Harbour Quay Gardens and The 02.

Kingston: Absorb London’s history with views of the grandiose Hampton Court Palace and Kingston Bridge.

Birmingham: Explore the unique canal network of Birmingham, passing through Gas Street Basin, the Mailbox, the Cube and Birmingham University.

Prices start from £85 in London and £80 in Birmingham, meaning the cruise costs from £10 per person, based on a full boat. This makes GoBoat an affordable activity to escape the city, whilst in the city, and bond with friends and family.
