Gozney set to launch the UK’s most remote restaurant on the Jurassic Coast this May

Premium outdoor oven brand Gozney is teaming up with fire-pioneering chef Chris Roberts to launch the UK’s most remote restaurant, a one-of-a-kind pop-up set high on the clifftops of the Jurassic Coast.

Gozney is taking its mission to change the way the world cooks outdoors one step further with the immersive live-fire culinary experience which offers guests breathtaking views of the UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Guests will be able to take in the stunning views of the Jurassic Coast during their intimate lunchtime experience, all whilst enjoying fresh and locally-sourced dishes in the great outdoors.

The remote restaurant will be open for one day only on Wednesday 24th May, where chef Chris Roberts will cook and serve a locally curated menu at 12.30pm. As the restaurant lies far off the beaten track, guests will have to find the exact location of Chris’ pop-up kitchen via its ‘what3words’ location and venture across the Dorset countryside to find their seat at the spectacular outdoor table.

All food will be cooked on Gozney’s premier portable oven, the Roccbox, which will be at the heart of the al-fresco kitchen. Designed to enable anyone from novice to professional chef to cook anywhere from garden to getaway, the Roccbox opens up a world of possibilities to truly level-up your outdoor cooking game. What’s more, the Roccbox was designed and developed at Gozney HQ in Christchurch, Dorset, just along the coastline from the pop-up experience.

Taking things back to basics, the unprecedented culinary experience will offer guests a dramatic yet intimate setting to perfectly complement the primal art of live-fire cooking. Chef Chris Roberts will be putting his reputation for pushing the boundaries of what’s possible with open-flame cooking techniques to the test in a kitchen like no other, delivering an unforgettable menu using solely locally sourced ingredients.

Chris’s carefully curated menu includes a starter of Burnt Leek and Goats Cheese, followed by locally caught catch of the day, Lamb Chops with Spiced Butter, Charred Salsa Criolla and Pickles and finally a Burnt Cheesecake.

Chris ‘Flamebaster’ Roberts, Welsh fire-pioneering chef, said: “Fire is where food really began. From the earliest times, cooking over an open flame has been all about bringing people together to share a meal. There’s just something about cooking with fire that creates incredible flavours, textures, and aromas, and what better utensil to achieve this with than the Roccbox – it is so much more than just your standard pizza oven.”

Tom Gozney, founder of the eponymous outdoor oven brand, said: “At Gozney, we are constantly pushing the boundaries of cooking with fire and design, so this is a really exciting opportunity to take our much-loved Roccbox out in the wild to showcase the beauty and power that fire-cooking can hold”.

The exclusive live-fire dining experience will be limited to a select number of guests, with limited complimentary tickets up for grabs. Register your interest for the chance to attend the event, here: https://www.gozney.com/pages/uk-s-most-remote-restaurant
