Breakdown provider Green Flag is continuing the expansion of its owned and operated patrol service with the announcement it will now service drivers in key areas of London and the Southeast. The new fleet of owned and operated patrols will support the rescue provider’s existing patrols in the region, which are provided by a network of independent garages.

The expansion sees the network supporting more customers across the London boroughs, as well as down into the Kent Coast, Essex and through Sussex. Green Flag’s trained patrol technicians will be assisting customers in and around the highly populated M25. The roads in and around this busy motorway can be challenging, with large volumes of traffic and the potential for broken-down vehicles to cause significant congestion, which is why it is so important for our mechanics to be there for customers wherever they need it.

Customers who find themselves with a flat battery that cannot be recharged will now be able to buy a replacement at the roadside, which our technicians can explore fitting straight away. Providing reassurances that it is not something they need to sort later. Customers can also be supported with replacement tyres, warning lights, key jams, wiper replacements and more.

The launch follows the successful roll out of Green Flag’s owned patrols in the East Midlands (October 2024), Northwest (June 2024), Yorkshire (February 2024), the West Midlands (July 2023) and Scotland (January 2023). The rollout of its own patrol network started in 2023 and is continuing throughout 2025.

The expanded branded patrol complements the existing independent garage network. Third-party roadside vehicles and technicians will continue to support our existing customer base focusing on complex recoveries across the rest of the UK.
