GUINNESS AND LABRUM TO HOST COMMUNITY WORKSHOPS IN SEPTEMBER

This summer saw GUINNESS and the trailblazing British fashion brand LABRUM partner up to launch a limited-edition summer capsule collection. The collection pays homage to the joyful communion the UK shares with those who have emigrated from Sierra Leone, Western Africa.

With the collection’s standout feature being a one-of-a-kind, co-created print design that tells the story of LABRUM founder Foday Dumbuya’s fond memories in Sierra Leone’s capital city, Freetown, the pair are now gearing up to host two public workshops to inspire aspiring designers.

In the free-to-attend workshop sessions, participants will have the unique opportunity to hear Foday, the recipient of the prestigious Queen Elizabeth II Award for British Design 2023, tell the story of the collection, from ideation to production. They will also be challenged to come up with their own Guinness inspired print design during the sessions, all the while being mentored by the man himself.

Each session will end with Foday selecting a winning design, which will be printed on a fabric swatch for the winners. All participants will leave the sessions with a money-can’t-buy gift, including a tote bag from GUINNESS x LABRUM summer capsule collection and a special edition pint glass, neither of which are available to purchase.

The workshops will take place on 24th October, at 1-3pm and 4-6pm at Labrum’s studios at 180 Strand, London. Those who would like to participate in the workshops can sign up for free via the event page (here),but they must hurry, as the spaces are extremely limited. Participants must be aged 18 or over.
