GUINNESS Cold Brew Coffee Beer launches in Great Britain

GUINNESS announces its brand-new, innovative addition to the GUINNESS family, GUINNESS Cold Brew Coffee Beer, launching in Great Britain this week.

Having launched in the US last year, the latest cutting-edge brand development brings the iconic magic of GUINNESS and distinct coffee flavours together for a match made in heaven (or, really, St. James’s Gate Brewery) to create a delicious, smooth taste sensation.

As GUINNESS Cold Brew Coffee Beer dials up the much-loved coffee notes of GUINNESS Draught, it is an ideal drink for GUINNESS fans, as well as those who may not previously have considered enjoying a pint of the black stuff. Particularly as Britons have recently named coffee as their number one drink, overtaking tea with 95 million cups of coffee consumed each day¹.

To deliver this refreshing new taste which reflects the nature of cold brew coffee – coffee which has been steeped in cool water for long periods of time instead of brewed with boiling water – is added to GUINNESS Draught, alongside additional roasted barley flavours, to balance delicate notes of delicious coffee, chocolate and caramel from the first sip to the last. With approximately 2mg of caffeine per can, the same as a decaf coffee, GUINNESS Cold Brew Coffee Beer is best served ice cold, either straight from the can or in a favourite glass; perfect for sipping while catching up with friends, when relaxing at home, or enjoyed as a delicious drink in the sun.

Available from 19th April in Tesco stores – and further supermarkets and off-licenses in the coming months – GUINNESS Cold Brew Coffee Beer will be available in a 440ml can format at 4% ABV in Great Britain. Launching first in Tesco, followed by further supermarkets and off-licenses nationwide in May and June including Sainsbury’s, Morrison’s, Waitrose and Asda.

Following its launch in the US last year, GUINNESS Cold Brew Coffee Beer is the latest in a series of revolutionary innovation from GUINNESS. The past 12 months has seen the arrival of pioneering GUINNESS MICRODRAUGHT dispense technology bringing the beautiful tasting GUINNESS Draught consumers love to homes, as well as the alcohol-free beer GUINNESS 0.0%, removing alcohol through a cold-filtration process.

John Burns, Head of GUINNESS GB said: “We are delighted to launch GUINNESS Cold Brew Coffee Beer in Great Britain this week, complementing traditional notes of GUINNESS Draught with a refreshingly modern new flavour to delight GUINNESS fans, and introduce our iconic beer to prospective new fans. We firmly believe we have created a taste experience truly unrivalled in the market and with over 95 million cups of coffee being consumed every day in Great Britain alone, now is the moment to offer a product which plays to an excitingly vast consumer space. There is already a natural connection with coffee notes in GUINNESS’ signature offerings like Draught and Extra Stout, so the creation of GUINNESS Cold Brew Coffee Beer was a perfect match.”

GUINNESS Cold Brew Coffee Beer is the newest permanent offering from GUINNESS, brewed at St. James’s Gate in Dublin from the same brewers of the iconic GUINNESS Draught Stout.
