Hearts, Flowers, Engagements and Bingo! Enjoy Valentine’s Day with the Nation’s Favourite Pastime

With the nation missing out on candelit evenings in restaurants, trips to the cinema and nights on the town this Valentine’s Day, it’s going to be a very different equation when we wake up on February 14.

To really woo a partner, being inventive is going to be key, whether that be in the kitchen or when it comes to an evening’s entertainment. Luckily, leading UK bingo site Moon Bingo have stepped in to give you a helping hand.

Valentine’s Day has long been a day that is full of traditions, from heart-shaped gifts to a dozen red roses, and even the odd engagement, and to help the nation celebrate the most romantic day of the year, Moon Bingo have released a limited edition bingo card that explores all the common gifts, scenarios and even trials and tribulations associated with the day.

It’s the perfect way to spice up this Sunday, with the opportunity to go head-to-head with other couples and family members in a bid to mark off the full set of squares on the bingo card. There are some interesting squares that make up the card, from the rather tame and traditional flower delivery, to heart-shaped gifts, and the rather more interesting love triangles and exes turning up. Which of course, nobody wants!

The latter is something you’d perhaps be more likely to see in a Hollywood movie than on a quiet cul-de-sac in Cheshire or row of terraces in Swansea. Which is just as well, because there will be plenty of films to watch across the day too.

With romance films set to be even more commonplace this year, the bingo brand has also released a Romantic Movie Bingo card, for those who are planning on spending the day on the sofa binging all your favourite rom coms and classics, from Casablanca to Mamma Mia!.

The bingo card again features all the elements you’d expert to see in a romance film, from incredible first dates to nosy and pushy parents, to, of course, those soppy moments when romance is rekindled after a dramatic moment of doubt. To give you a helping hand, Moon Bingo have also offered up their recommendations to complete the bingo card with, including romantic classics The Notebook and Titanic, where it’s almost certain you’ll manage to fill most of the bingo card.

Other recommendations include the box office smash A Star Is Born, alongside If Beale Street Could Talk, released in the same year and another which received widespread acclaim from the critics.

And who knows, this year’s Valentine’s Day could be just as romantic as the movies. As long as your partner pulls out all the stops anyway…
