Amar Adatia is a name that has taken many by surprise in London and across the UK, the British film producer and actor is considered one to watch across the UK film scene. We had a chat with him to find out more.

Q. Tell the readers where your filmmaking journey began?

AA: I have been acting for 17 years and as British-Asian I was never getting the roles I was satisfied with. I decided to make my own films and to think outside the box to create my dreams. Now I have made 8 feature films and hopefully many more to come.

Q. What are some of your challenges making high end films on a budget?

AA: Being on a budget, obviously! There is a lot more you can do with more money but the skill is to be smart with where the money goes and how you can get the top quality stuff for less. That’s the producers talent.

Q. What excites you more, producing or acting?

AA: Both of these roles have exciting challenges and fulfil me in different ways, acting is where my passion is and that’s where I can be creative and challenge myself. Producing excites me as I step purely into a business aspect of filmmaking and see my film grow from script to screen.

Q. What can we expect from you in the rest of 2018?

AA: Definitely a lot more films to be made but also maybe a tv series in pipeline too… And also just to be happy and manifest great things.
