HOUSEBUILDER UNITES AGAINST CANCER IN DONATION TO ANGMERING CHARITY

Local housebuilder David Wilson Homes has donated £1,000 to charity Cancer United in Angmering, nearby to its Ecclesden Park development on Water Lane. The donation was made as part of David Wilson Southern Counties’ Community Fund initiative, which sees the housebuilder reinvest into the local communities surrounding its developments.

Cancer United aims to help individuals and their families whose lives have been changed by a cancer diagnosis, offering social environments where people come together to improve physical and mental wellness. The charity offers fitness training that is tailored towards the patients’ needs and capabilities with their cancer-specific gym, the first of its kind in the UK.

The donation from David Wilson Southern Counties will help the staff continue to lead the tailored fitness sessions, such as swimming, football, and general exercise classes, which are available in person or online.

Kimberley Benson, Sales and Marketing Director for David Wilson Southern Counties, commented: “As a community-oriented housebuilder, our goal is to ensure that local residents have access to vital services such as active recovery groups and emotional wellbeing support for those that need it. Cancer United is an antidote to the loneliness that a cancer diagnosis can create, by bringing people together and forming a united front to combat this disease.”

Jan Sheward, Founder and Chair of Cancer United, commented: “I wanted to create a place where those with cancer could find comfort and guidance, whether it’s simply for a chat over coffee or to take part in other events, like our bi-annual OutRunCancer run, or our fitness and singing classes. The donation from David Wilson Southern Counties will help us to sustain the unique and valuable work that we do.”

David Wilson Southern Counties is building new homes at Ecclesden Park in Angmering. Currently available is a selection of three and four-bedroom homes, with prices starting from £434,995 for a three-bedroom home.
