In which TV series appear casino games

There are many TV series in which appear, sometimes even often, gambling halls or specific pastimes related to the world of gambling. In this article we will try to list those, in our opinion, most relevant and that are distinguished by all the cast, plot and audience feedback. Between horse racing, poker and blackjack, nothing is really missing to entertain viewers and attract fans of gambling and Casino streamers or players. We will then dedicate a concluding paragraph to films that have devoted entire plots or, simply, much of their time to everything that gravitates around the casino world; some of these, as well as TV series, are still available on the most important streaming platforms and we strongly recommend that you retrieve them, because it is really worth it.

The most recent or ongoing TV series

We start this list by citing a recent Netflix series, Runner Runner, in which the CEO of an online poker site takes with him a young man to help him in business; but around everything that gravitates around him hovers a particular shadow and even the FBI investigates the site, about him and who’s involved in his business. We are perhaps talking about one of the few series in which the casino is the protagonist of the plot and not just a side that appears from time to time. As happens for example in Sneaky Pete and Peaky Blinders: both these TV shows, in fact, which are located respectively on Netflix and Prime Video, boast a frequent presence of gambling games such as poker or betting, but are mainly focused on other topics.

Older or discontinued TV series

Another TV series that gravitated around the world of poker was, for example, Tilt, which lasted only one season aired in 2005. Set during an imaginary World Championship of poker hosted in Las Vegas, the city of the game par excellence, the series follows the protagonists in different adventures that start from the green table but also develop away from it, between intrigue and backstage. In 2008, Las Vegas told the story of the employees of Montecito Resort & Casino, where there is no lack of luxury, gaming and money that characterize the stories of the protagonists. And going back a lot in time, we mention Big Deal, 1984, which tells the adventures of a London gambler, passionate about everything that involves a bet or games with a chance to win the biggest jackpots, but especially poker.

What about the movies?

The world of cinema deserves a separate speech, where the titles in which the casino is protagonist or appears are often not few. Of course we cannot avoid to mention first Casino Royale, the first movie on 007 starring Daniel Craig, who is remembered especially for the legendary poker game between James Bond and LeChiffre. And then Molly’s Game with Jessica Chastain, based on the true story of the one who ran the poker tables where wealthy entrepreneurs, sportsmen and Hollywood stars sat. Another milestone is 21 with Kevin Spacey, also based on a true story, although fictionalized, in which a group of students and their professor try to make money thanks to a particular card counting system, succeeding in winning with blackjack numerous casinos. Finally we mention Ocean’s Eleven, with a choral cast composed of the most popular actors of the star system, including George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Matt Damon, Casey Affleck, Andy Garcia and Julia Roberts, it tells of the world of gambling and the charm of the casino as an elegant and sparkling place to spend hours of fun and adrenaline.
